1, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system reactor
Function: Efficiently remove nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the exhaust gas of marine engines, it is the core technology to meet the IMO Tier III emission standards.
Principle: Under the action of a catalyst, urea solution (commonly known as diesel exhaust fluid, DEF) is used as a reducing agent to convert harmful NOx into harmless nitrogen (N₂) and water (H₂O).
Application: Mainly used for main propulsion engines and large auxiliary engines of ships.
2, Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)
Function: Effectively remove carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC) and some particulate matter (PM) from exhaust gases.
Principle: Through catalytic oxidation reaction, CO and HC are converted into harmless carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water (H₂O).
Application: It is commonly used for exhaust gas treatment of auxiliary machines and boilers, or as a pre-unit of SCR systems.
3, Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filter (CDPF)
Function: Efficiently capture and oxidize to eliminate black smoke and particulate matter (PM/black carbon) in exhaust gas.
Principle: Particulate matter is captured by a porous wall-flow filter, and the oxidation temperature of the particulate matter is reduced by a coated catalyst to achieve continuous or periodic regeneration, maintaining the system's unobstructed state.
Application: In situations where particulate matter emissions are subject to extremely strict requirements, such as ships operating in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) or in environmentally sensitive regions.
