Catalyzed Soot Filters (CSF)

The filters first trap particulates and then use patented catalytic technology to continuously burn them at normal diesel operating exhaust temperatures. Benefits include being able to trap very fine particles including those below one tenth of a micron, which includes most of the PM10. The filters can also reduce particulate matter, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons by more than 90%.

Product Description

Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filters (cDPFs) reduce particulate matter, oxidize hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide in the exhaust to carbon dioxide and water, and form NO2 from NO oxidation to support the functionality of a downstream SCR catalyst.

2 CO + O2 → 2 CO2

CxHy + (x+y/4) O2 → x CO2 + (y/2) H2O

2 NO + O2 → 2 NO2

Remove over 99% of particulate matter
Have high performance at low precious metal loadings and low back pressure
Are optimised for specific systems and are durable against temperatures and poisons
Oxidise NO to provide favourable NO:NO2 ratios for passive filter regeneration and for downstream catalyst reactions
Can be coated onto a range of different filter substrate types.
